About Clare Baker

Clare's love of photography first started when she received a camera for a Christmas present when she was 9 years old. It wasn't until after a disabling car accident in 1994 that she started to take her art more seriously. Clare decided to take a course through NY. While seeking advice for a school assignment Clare caught the eye of the editor of the local newspaper. After the chance meeting with the editor within 2 weeks Clare had her first professional photo shoot, her first published image, a double page spread and the cover of the newspaper. Clare learned fast and received a huge wealth of knowledge and diverse experience working for the paper. Clare also worked as a freelance photographer and has had work featured in many publications she has photographed at Las Vegas Pro am Rodeo, Calgary Stampede, Merritt Mountain Music Festival World Ski and snowboard for Vibe magazine ,Vancouver Molson Indy BC Festival of the arts (official photographer) Tour De Delta (official photographer) Telus JDRF Walk for a Cure (official photographer)

Clare's art work hangs in galleries and personal collections around the world. She strives to produce images that create thought, opinion, emotion or feeling.

Recent Awards......
Clare has been awarded as an Official Selection and honoree of the 7th Annual Lucie Awards. Clare has recieved a double nomination for the image "Solitude" in the Fine Art category and also for " Admiration" in the people category.
"Solitude" was chosen to exhibit as part of the ARTS 09 . A juried exhibit running at the Surrey Art Gallery from June - Aug 09.

Clare received the People's Choice Award winner for Best in show at the ARTS 09. Aug 09.
